The BA (Hons) Business Studies (Top-Up) is a one-year, Level 6 programme for students who have already completed a Level 5 qualification in a business-related subject. It leads to a full bachelor’s degree awarded by the University of West London (UWL).

The programme has been developed with input from industry, professional bodies, and academics, and is designed to build on your existing knowledge with a focus on strategic thinking, innovation, and responsible business practice. Graduates may progress to employment in business or management roles, or to postgraduate study, depending on individual circumstances.

Entry Requirements

To be considered for this programme, you will normally need to hold one of the following:

 

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant subject
  • An EduQual Diploma in a relevant subject (SCQF Level 8)
  • A Diploma of Higher Education
  • A Foundation Degree
  • Any UK Level 5 qualification totalling 240 credits, achieved at Merit or above

 

If your Level 5 qualification was awarded at Pass overall, a minimum of one year’s relevant work experience will also be required.
You should also be able to demonstrate an interest in business and motivation to engage with degree-level study.

Partnership and Awarding Body

This programme is delivered by UKCBC under a franchise agreement with the University of West London. Your degree, upon successful completion, is awarded by UWL.

As a student on this programme, you are required to meet the academic regulations and conduct requirements of both UKCBC and UWL. For the purposes of your award, you will be enrolled as a student of UWL.

In addition to UKCBC’s own study support and facilities, you will have access to support services provided by UWL.
