Governance and Management
UKCBC is committed to operating with transparency, accountability and integrity. Our governance arrangements set out clearly how the College is led, how decisions are made, and how we assure the quality of everything we do — from the academic experience of our students to our financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Our Corporate and Academic Governance Framework (CAGF), approved by the Board of Governors, establishes the structures, responsibilities and assurance mechanisms through which UKCBC is governed. It aligns with the Office for Students Conditions of Registration, the Public Interest Governance Principles, and the CUC Higher Education Code of Governance.
How We Are Governed
BOARD OF GOVERNERS
The Board of Governors is the supreme governing body of UKCBC. It holds ultimate responsibility for the College’s strategic direction, financial sustainability, academic integrity and regulatory compliance. The Board is supported by three standing committees — the Audit and Risk Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Nominations and Remuneration Committee — each providing specialist scrutiny and assurance.
ACADEMIC BOARD
The Academic Board is the senior academic authority of the College. It operates independently of executive management and reports directly to the Board of Governors, safeguarding academic standards, student outcomes and the integrity of teaching, learning and assessment.
The Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the operational management and delivery of the College’s approved strategy, translating Board decisions into institutional plans and providing consolidated assurance across all areas of performance.
Student and staff voice are embedded throughout our governance structures. The Student Council reports directly to the Board of Governors, ensuring that student perspectives inform decisions at the highest level.
