ABOUT UKCBC

STRATEGIC PURPOSE 2030

Higher Education Opportunities for Adult Learners

At UKCBC, we are committed to widening participation in higher education by opening the door to learning for as many people as possible. We are proud to be an HE provider with strong participation from underrepresented groups, including mature learners. We support individuals who may not have previously considered higher education as a viable option to pursue personal and professional development through enrolment on our courses.
From our modern campus in Central London to our academic staff with relevant industry experience, we provide a supportive and well-resourced learning environment that enables students to succeed during their programme and to progress beyond graduation.
We work in partnership with the University of West London (the awarding body for our degrees, and the capital’s top modern university in 2022) to deliver undergraduate programmes designed around the needs of our student body. These include flexible entry routes for mature learners and condensed study patterns that support students in balancing study with other commitments.

The UKCBC Community

Since our inception over two decades ago, we have worked to develop an inclusive and supportive academic community that values diversity and promotes opportunity through education. We understand the particular challenges faced by some of the most underrepresented groups in higher education and have shaped our student experience accordingly.
Our approach focuses on supporting students throughout the entire student lifecycle — from one-to-one guidance at the initial enquiry stage and support with student finance applications, through to academic skills development, wellbeing support and careers guidance, including help with job applications after graduation. This integrated support is designed to help students engage successfully with their studies and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Our Higher Education Partners

We carefully select our higher education and industry partners to ensure that our provision delivers value for students and meets recognised academic standards. We also seek opportunities to collaborate with additional academic and professional partners where this enhances the student experience and outcomes.
We work with Plymouth Marjon University (PMU) and the University of West London (UWL) to deliver undergraduate and master’s degrees developed to address the evolving needs of prospective and current mature learners. Our provision includes a one-year top-up degree, enabling students who have successfully completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) or other Level 5 qualification to progress to a Level 6 Business degree at UKCBC.
You can also learn more about our sister colleges: the UK College of English and UKCBC Dubai.
