Student Support
UKCBC provides a range of support services to help you succeed throughout your studies. Whether you need academic guidance, student financial application support, or support related to a disability or personal circumstance, our teams are here to help.
Academic Support
Our academic support services are designed to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed during your studies.
We offer support with:
- Academic writing, referencing, and citation
- Critical thinking, research skills, and exam preparation
- Subject-specific tutorials and workshops
- Problem-solving sessions for quantitative subjects such as finance
- English language support
- Presentation, poster, and data analytics skills
- IT and digital skills, including Excel and virtual learning environments, such as Moodle and Blackboard
Support is delivered through one-to-one sessions, group workshops, and peer-assisted learning, including peer mentoring and study groups facilitated by senior students.
Library and Research Support
Our library support includes guidance on using academic databases, conducting literature searches, evaluating sources, and using referencing tools.
Disability and Wellbeing Support
If you have a disability, specific learning difficulty, or long-term health condition, our Disability Support team will work with you to put the right adjustments in place.
We support students with a wide range of needs, including:
- Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia
- Physical disabilities and mobility impairments
- Sensory impairments, including visual or hearing loss
- Autism spectrum conditions
- Mental health conditions
- Long-term medical conditions

What We Can Put in Place
- A personalised learner support plan outlining reasonable adjustments
- One-to-one tutoring and study skills support via a Personal Tutor
- Exam arrangements including extra time, rest breaks, or alternative formats
- Accessible campus facilities, including step-free access, lifts, and adapted spaces
- Referral to external services where additional support is needed
How to Access Disability Support
You can contact the Disability Support team before or after enrolment. Where available, please bring relevant medical or diagnostic evidence, or a Student Needs Assessment Report if you have received one from a DSA Assessor. A member of the team will meet with you to discuss your needs and agree on next steps.

Student Finance Support
Our Student Services team can help you understand and manage your student finance throughout your studies.
We can assist with:
- Understanding and navigating your Student Finance England (SFE) application
- Guidance on tuition fee payments and funding options
- Advice on maintenance loans
- Support with resolving delays or issues with your funding
- Signposting to additional financial support where needed
